MOȘNA - CAPACLIA

Cod EMS-ENI: 2SOFT/2.1/188.
Programul Operațional Comun România-Republica Moldova 2014-2020

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Through the Joint Operational Program Romania-Republic of Moldova, with funding through the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI), Moşna commune in Iași county and Capaclia village in Cantemir district have accessed a cross-border cooperation project.

The project, called Here arE ouR traditIons The pAst alonG futurE, under the acronym HERITAGE, code EMS-ENI 2SOFT/2.1/188, aims to promote local culture and preserve the historical heritage of the territories of the beneficiaries involved. Moşna (main beneficiary) and Capaclia (partner) are two old settlements in Romania and the Republic of Moldova that have a cultural-historical heritage that needs to be preserved and promoted.

The project runs for a period of 12 months, the start date of the activity being June 16, 2020. Its total value is 110,113.00 Euro, of which 11% is the co-financing part.

Moşna commune has a cultural heritage that includes monuments, manuscripts and cultural traditions. As for the commune of Capaclia, it has a cultural tradition that deserves to be preserved. This project is an excellent opportunity for the development of tools / methods from ancient times to attract both young people to traditions and tourists to visit tourist attractions. This project could help both partners who have a common problem: the development of local heritage through young people and tourists.

Moșna and Capaclia communes are two old settlements in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, small in size, relatively isolated and located in a hilly geographical setting. They are located on the border of large expanses of forest with rare, secular and legendary plants. Both the history and the geographical setting have generated similar traditions and customs in the two local communities. This generates the need to create a database that includes the cultural and historical heritage of the two communities, to know and promote the local cultural and historical heritage (for example, historical monuments: the Geto-Dacian fortress of Moşna and the specific elements of the old building ; Church of the Holy Voivodes Moşna – with the iconostasis of the church of Saint Nicholas the Prince of Iași), nature reserves with their specific flora and fauna (Codrii Tigheci – nature reserve of the Republic of Moldova, reserve with rare plant species; Voda Valley), Commune Days, Dances old folk songs of the village, old folk songs etc. By promoting local traditional culture, we also seek to identify potential talents in the field of traditional art organizations and culture.
